I saw so many RFE recently. I am wondering If there is RFE, the attorney can not represent me. Can i just send RFE by myself to CIS? Or the attorney has to do it.

this is ridiculous. It doesn't really matter whether english or anything else is the main language here. As long as the driver is driving properly and follows the road signs properly, why should the police care whether the driver can read? Maybe the driver just memorizes everything, maybe the driver knows it by advanced electronic devices, telepathy, or miracle, whatever, who cares?

I believe consular processing can be used only if the dates are current. It might take a long time for 2003 April EB3 India to be current. Since Green Card is for future employment, is there anyway to continue the Green Card process while in India ??

08/04 LUD on your I485 should be for approval. What does the message read? I had received RFE. They received the response for RFE on 08-01 for which there was LUD on 08-01. There was another LUD on 08-03. another one on 08-04. The status reads: "On August 1, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This is all election fever and fear, they could have easily passed or amend Legal immigration first before taking CIR. Legals are SCAPE GOATS in the hands of Hispanic Caucus.
Please go and talk to Hispanic Caucus about it. Maybe they will listen to your desperate call for help and suffering.
Tell them you want to buy bigger house, fancier car and get promoted to make more money. You cannot go to Europe vacations or on a Cruise without a greencard. Your wife cannot also make 100K+ money as much as you make and so your kids are starving. Tell them that you are very educated and have Ivy league degrees. Despite all your intelligence and smartness, your employer is exploiting you and not giving promotions.
Then say your problems are more important than problems of undocumented. They are anyways subhuman and you do not care if they do not have food to eat, get exploited, do not get medical care or have a roof above their house. They should all be jailed and deported like animals. USA is a rich country and can easily round up 13 million people and deport them. Suggest some ways of deportation using your smart intelligence.

It is possible that the employer may sue you. But since you would be finding a new job, you can always ask your new employer to give you a sign-on bonus which will be equal to or greater than the expenses demanded by your present employer.

Please consider signing up for monthly recurring contributions. It will be a big help to IV and we can plan our lobbying efforts in the coming months ahead of time.
It seems people will wake up only after they are stuck in the 485 and EAD backlogs and ask IV to do something for them. It will be too late by then. The more we get closer to the presidential election, the lesser chances we have to get any relief. Hope all members realize this truth.

my wife's case was little different, Most of the time they(SSN office staff) don't know the procedure. It happned to my wife who entered US on H1B and we went to SSN office 3rd day after her arrival. The representative told us to wait 2 weeks and then apply as shw can't pull the data, we went very next day and told that we have called the office and they said there is no such rule to wait, the representative should accept your application immidiately. the lady took our application and guess what - less than 2 weeks we received SSN card for my wife.
My wife's H1 got approved & it is valid from October Ist. When she went to Social Security Office today 9/30 - they denied saying they can't pull up her information in their system (from INS) & hence they can't issue the SSN.
She was carrying her I-797 approval (along with I-94).
Anyone else faced a similar situation ? Any suggestions.

The cheapest way will be to give some $50-75 to the immigrationpro.com attorney. They will answer your questions through email. At least you have some opinion to verify with. I would also suggest to go through the yellow pages and find immigration lawyers who give you first hour free consultation. Do not rely on people like me for the prefessional opinion. Even though we have good things in mind, we are not prefessional lawyers. Get 4-5 professional opinion and then you will automatically know what is the truth.

Unless, people realize that it is in their interest to spread this grass root effort it is all futile. Do you guys really think that distributing fliers by four guys at the parade is going to make a difference.
Though I really commend what these guys did and they were truly heroes but if I were them, then based on the turn out (only 4 people) I would have decided to go back.
After all, these were not doing only for themselves but for every one else too.

Whenever you have a similar doubt, just think of one simple statistical fact - that even at the peak of India's freedom struggle, only 5% of the total population was actively involved; 95% were mute spectators. Did that stop the people who were truly devoted to stop their struggle? No. Our 4 volunteers represent that spirit.

Lou Dobbs is criticizing against the STRIVE act and saying that doubling the Employment based immigration will flood the market and will effect the middle class in america.Guys, this is another great reason of why to change your mind and ATTEND THE RALLY! And depending on how long you have been on H1 and if the University is a State Univ, your wife can also qualify for in state Tuition fee. These days its very rare for MS students to get funding. You can save some money that way.

It should come with in a week. It all depends on whether you filed your I-485 through attorney or not. For me they send it on 08/29/08. My attorneys informed me on 09/04/2008.
