I had my H1b till Nov 16, 2010 with Company1
Company2 applied for H1b transfer and it was approved as of Nov 08, 2010 ( but we didn't get any notification about it it's approval until few weeks later)
Company1 filed for H1b extension on Nov 10, 2010
I properly resigned Company1 on Nov 30, 2010 and started working with Company2 on Dec 1, 2010
Somehow Company1 didn't terminate my H1b extension and it got approved as of Jan 18, 2011.
1) Which status am I in? What decides my status?
2) Can I continue working for Company2 without any problems? Has this new approval put my transfer in jeopardy?
3) Do I need to update Company2 about Company1's extension approval?
4) Do I need to leave the Country to do any stamping?
Please help!!

By courtesy copy do you mean the original I-797C?
I am also in the same situation. I didn't get the copy and lawyer got copy today only. Appt date is this Sat.
Lawyer has emailed me the scanned copy. Can I take this copy for FP ?

I will be done with my second master's this July 29. I have two months grace period to leave the country as I already used my OPT after my first master's. I have a job offer and they are willing to do my H1B which starts from October 2011. But my two months grace period will end this september 29. If my H1B is filed in September under Premium processing, will I be in status or out of status for those two days. Did any one face similar problem before. If so, can you please give me the solution?

It is best to initiate the GC process. Agreed current times are unfavorable ( LC is taking time etc etc ). But if your LC and I-140 are approved you can switch jobs and port PD assuming you change companies with the same job description.

I am on an H-1 and my wife has an H-4 visa.
We filed our I-485 in July 2007 and will be current as of July 1st 2010 as per the June 2010 visa bulletin.
We do not have an AP as we didn't renew it after the first one (from July 07) expired.
We do have valid EAD�s (which we have not used until now)
We have to travel urgently to India for some personal reasons in July 2010.
What if we get our Green Card while we are gone? Can we still enter using our valid H-1/H-4 visas/status? If not, is it mandatory to have an AP to re-enter in this case?

You will have to get your AP and enter the US using it. That would be best. Consult your lawyer too..

I mailed my I-765 along with cashier's check for $340 on dec, 17 , still waiting for receipt notice. I call customer care number today since its more than 30 days, but they are closed today.
I have USPS confirmation that they have received case on Dec 19.

My driver's license has come up for renewal in Feb 2009. I have 2 yrs EAD.I have send my H1 for renewal but it has not got yet approved..
My employer suggessted that I use my EAD card to get my license renewed. In Ideal case I would like to use my approved H1 to renew my license. However since its taking time for my H1 renewal can I use my EAD card to get my license renewed.

Let's hope that it means the next offering from Canon comes in at about that same price point (about USD$2000). Maybe they (Kodak) know something?
